Does the thought of cold calling send shivers down your spine?

Do you get sick of ‘peopling’ on a regular basis? And don’t even get you started on the idea of walking into a mass networking event!

If you are saying yes, yes and yes then chances are you are a bit of an introvert. I am also willing to bet that sales conversations and pitching your services put you in an uncomfortable space.

Putting yourself out there is a huge part of running your own business. But, it can be such a challenge when you are an introvert.

Want to hear some good news?

Having a business blog is the perfect marketing technique for introverts.

Why? Because you don’t have to people unnecessarily.

You simply put your amazing knowledge out there and draw people into your business.

Sound good?

Here’s how it all works…

Why Blogging Is The Perfect Marketing Technique For Introverts

Why A Business Blog Works For Introverts

As introverts, the things we seem to enjoy probably include… your own space, time away from the hustle and bustle of a crowded workspace, and plenty of time to think without interruption.

On the flipside, the things you probably don’t enjoy are enormous team meetings, busy offices, and making small talk with people you don’t know that well.

The great news is, when you use a business blog as a marketing tactic, you don’t have to do any of those uncomfortable things. You simply get in your zone, write your content and publish it to the world.

If you do it consistently and build a following, then people who need your services will start coming to you. Yep, that’s right, no need for cold calling, prospecting, or any of that other stuff.

Just genuine conversations with people that love what you do and are already interested in working with you.

How To Make The Technique Work

There are lots of things that you can do alone in your business. Unfortunately, getting paid is not one of those things! You can’t run a successful business without clients.

So, you need to get in front of the people that are most interested in what you have to offer.

The truth bomb I have already dropped is that you don’t have to step too far outside of your comfort zone to do that. Here’s what introverts need to do to nail this marketing technique:

  1. Post awesome, interesting blog content that delivers value to your ideal clients on a regular basis
  2. Make sure those articles are optimised for SEO and published on your website
  3. Ensure each of the articles includes a Call to Action telling people how they can take the next step with your business. ie. book a discovery call, sign up for your newsletter etc.
  4. Share the content far and wide from the safety of your computer. Put it on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest (if these platforms are appropriate for your audience)
  5. Email it out to your list to remind them of who you are and how you can help. Include a P.S. statement that tells them how they can work with you when they are ready to take that step.
  6. Rinse and repeat these steps each and every month

Play The Long Game

It is important to remember that this is a long term strategy that can take a number of months to start showing consistent results. The great thing about it is that you get to stay in front of the people that are interested in what you offer in a really unobtrusive way.

It also helps you to build really great habits. Publishing consistent content shows your audience that you are committed to excellence and that you are a real force to be reckoned with. By allowing them to see your expertise, they will be drawn to working with you.

While it doesn’t completely remove the need to talk to people and to have sales conversations, you will not be selling to cold prospects. Half of the battle will already be won as the leads that blogging generates already know, like and trust you. As we know, this is a huge deciding factor in a purchasing decision.

So, get out there and get blogging!
