Does this sound familiar…

Oh shoot, I better write a blog. After all, it’s been 3 months since I posted the last one.

Great, I’ve posted a blog, don’t have to worry about that for a while now.

Then, before you know it, another 3 months have passed and you haven’t published anything else.

Like many things in business, consistency is key when it comes to blogging.

It pays to have a solid plan in place so that you can be consistent. Here’s why…

Why Consistency Is Key With Blogging

Pleasing The Google Gods

We all know that SEO is a huge benefit when it comes to your blogs. After all, each blog you publish is another keyword to rank for and another chance for people to find you online.

There are a lot of complicated factors that go into a good SEO strategy. It isn’t just throwing up a post every now and then with a good keyword.

Consistency should be a large part of your SEO strategy.

Put quite simply, search engines like sites that are updated regularly. They see them as having new, fresh content that people want to read.

So, if you are publishing a blog every month, the search spiders will see that your site is being updated regularly. This can help your website to rank higher in organic searches.

Creating Expectations

You are pretty awesome. Well, your audience sure thinks you are anyway. So, they want to hear from you. They want to read all about your expertise and knowledge.

By posting a regular blog, you set an expectation.

Your audience will know when they should tune in to read your latest article. In fact, they will start to look forward to it.

By simply reading your blog every month, they are learning more about your business. They are understanding what you can do and how you can help them. You are helping them to trust your business and moving them closer to being a paying client or customer.

Unless you post consistently, they won’t know when to expect your new articles.

Building A Habit

We all have habits. Some of them are good and some of them are bad. But, they all took time to form.

If you can create a habit of generating a blog a month, then it won’t seem like a chore to write. It will just be part of the monthly landscape of your business.

Part of forming this habit is having a content plan to refer to. That will make it easier to know what you are writing about when you sit down to create magic!

Giving You Consistent Content

It can be challenging to come up with content for your social media and your newsletter. But, if you create a monthly blog, half of your problem is solved.

Work smarter, not harder by repurposing the content in your blog for other platforms.

Share a link to your blog on all your social media platforms, carve it up and post sections of it, write a little intro and it will become your newsletter, pull out some quotes and pop them in a graphic, even create a meme. The possibilities are endless.

Your blog is your cornerstone content for the month. Once you have it, you can use it to build the rest of your content.

However, if you don’t blog with consistency, then you won’t have that foundation content on hand when you need it!

As you can see, consistency in your blogging can really help you make headway with it. It can take a long time to put your blog content together, so you want to make sure it is worth it!
